The purpose of Dr. Jessie Owens Academy of Fine Arts is to provide a community arts education program for low socio-economic and disadvantage children (elementary, middle, high school) and adults. Phase one will offer music lessons in choral and instrumental music. Students will be taught to read music, music theory and history, improvisation, present recitals, concerts and creative dance. Phase two will include drama.


2016 Welcome

This year the J. Owens Academy welcomes students from Brigham Academy, Chain of Lakes, Jewett School of the Arts, Pinewood and Winter Haven Seventh Day Adventist Elementary Schools; Jewett Middle Academy; All Saints Academy, Auburndale and Winter Haven High Schools.

Founder

Professional music educator with participatory leadership style, experience in delivering the required goals, and objectives through innovative processes. Skillful in developing and creating workable strategies for teams, and challenging situations to present a standard of excellence in school, district level, church and community.
